I don't think I will ever not watch any sort of Star Trek mashup video.

I hope it does well. Plus, Bunk is back!
TV Feeds My Family: Arrested Development Season Four trailer: That's right, Season Four trailer. The Bluths are back and Netflix has 'em. You can start streaming all 15 episodes May 26...
Wooooooooooooooo!
I hope they didn't put all the money clips into the trailer... then again there's a whole season coming out at once so we can be pretty sure there's lots more where that came from.
Trailer sounds like it was mixed in the editing program... I *would* notice that sort of thing though.
Jeff poses the question - "Are happenings like this still possible?" - I'd say if this type of event happened today it certainly wouldn't warrant 10 minutes on a major tv program, maybe five seconds of most people skimming over a link.
I love these long lost artist mythology-building pieces. Neither this show nor NIN were on my radar at the time, but now it's fascinating to look back and see how the mainstream media at the time handled one of my now-favourite artists.
It features an Adam Levine-satirizing Adam Levine, and Kendrick Lamar with a performance that bests the two live performances he put in on the same show.
A song that transcends the 'comedy song' label and is in fact, simply, a great song.
I figure Adele will take Best Song on the extensive marketing campaigns alone. When the song first debuted there were countless stories about how it was "the greatest Bond song ever", when that just isn't the case. It's good, but doubtful it's the best ever, and it's even harder to just make that statement before the song has even been released to the public.
As for the other categories, I have no idea whatsoever. Alexandre Desplat has done some good scores, so maybe his track record gets him the award this year.
I'd vote for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack, but I'm heavily biased.
No embed links are available for either of these two, for whatever reason:
There it is. Now you can tell your friends that whine about MuchMusic 'not playing music anymore', you can tell them they're wrong, cause there is indeed music on the channel... if you don't dig what they're doing these days, you're probably not in their target audience.
Breaking Bad continues its streak of stellar integrations of pop songs into the show. There's not much on Whitey's allmusic or Wikipedia pages... Discogs has the best overview of his work. Looks like I'll be losing a few more bucks from my chequing account this week.
Take a listen even if you haven't seen the show... my best comparison would be LCD Soundsystem meets Faithless.
In any case, that was a nice surprise for my between-program channel flipping. The new owners got around to doing what the CBC probably couldn't fit into their budget.
As for the TV ad I'm referring to... I'm so tired of it being played ad nauseum. Doesn't make me want to play at all. The web trailer is way worse though, and I'm venturing into cranky old man territory when I say "is this the kind of crap that passes for games these days?" A topic for another day, for sure.
In any case, the TV spot, which has been playing during ad breaks on sports shows lately, features Johnny Cash's cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt".
Check out a great live rendition of the original here - best enjoyed in full screen:
^ that was a killer tour.
It's also not the first time that Johnny Cash has lent himself to a commercial.
Reminder: this was a real, actual thing that aired on television, and not a comedy sketch.
