Epic bat flip fail

Can't stop watching this... it's too funny.

I love how the first baseman from the other team comforts the guy... Also the tone of the announcer's voice says everything... no translation needed.

The Daily Swarm - It's Not Easy Being The Houston Astros Stadium DJ...

Reminds me of the time I went on a tour of the audio facilities at the Air Canada Centre. Modern sports arenas have staggeringly sophisticated media systems as part of their infrastructure.

The ACC's audio system is linked to the emergency alarms, so it's a critical system. The audio control room even controls the sound level in the washrooms. Can you imagine the pranks you could play?

More Super Bowl ad stuff

Hey, it's another self aware ad... soon they will gain sentience.

What a day for hockey

Here's an ode for both Leaf fans and Hab fans... who now are both part owned by BCE.

He ain't heavy man, he's your brother.

Sailing right into the MLB

If you're not a baseball fan you may have missed this epic-est of epic promo videos for Cuban phenom Yoenis Cespedes:

The tracklist for this video is absolutely stellar, as Mr. Cespedes rides the seas of smooth from Cuba all the way to an MLB stadium, with the help of Christopher Cross' "Sailing"... seriously though, have you ever seen such an epic/hilarious/wtf video?

There's an excellent play by play of the video here... I know at least one non-baseball person who would become an instant fan if a certain local club added this guy, thanks to the now notorious pig roast scene at the end of the video.

Super Blah

Black Eyed Peas are on half-time duty at the 2011 Super Bowl tomorrow. I'm not much a fan of football, but I am a huge fan of the parties. The year that Prince hosted the half time show was awesome. Not exactly who you'd expect for the rugged, manly game of football. But I guess if he can do it so can the Peas.

Go Jays.

Saigon Sunday

World Cup edition:

The first one here is by New Order from 1990, featuring rapping footballers and all (2:33):

And here's a priceless clip from BBC Sports, Mark E. Smith from the Fall reading the football results. Words can barely describe the ironic awesomeness contained herein:

OK! ...Marlins?

My brother tells me about this unintentionally (?) hilarious clip from Creed frontjesus Scott Stapp singing about the Florida Marlins professional bases-ball team. I think the video poster got it right with "Scott Stapp reads "baseball" entry on Wikipedia, takes elephant-sized crap on Marlins." So true.

Try to get those lines out of your head... "A perrrfect game, a trrrihple pleyyyy"... just try.
