The writers from the once-living Stylus Magazine have come together for a review of the recent decade that was. Great stuff over at The Stylus Decade...
The old site is still there, where you can find some fun, nerdy articles like the "Playing God" series, where writers would resequence their favourite (and not-so-favourite) albums, On First Thought, On Second Thought, and so on. Take an hour and lose yourself in their archives, you'll be glad you did.

A couple of my favourite music podcasts
What can I say, I'm a sucker for public radio.
CBC Radio 3 has a couple awesome podcasts you should check out. Turn your speakers down as the page features the annoying auto-play feature.
NPR's All Songs Considered covers all sorts of music but mostly rock and pop. Check out their year end and decade end shows. Lots of live concerts to check out as well.

Matt likes minimalist opera
The best part kicks in around 3 minutes, but watch the whole thing... so good.
The Canadian Opera Company is bringing this to the stage next year, I'd love to attend if the price isn't in the bourgeoisie range... though I hear they'll be doing standing room tickets for $12. Might be worth it, who knows.

What's on Bowie's iPod?
This is pretty cool, I've been listening to a lot of John Adams lately as well...

For fans of comedy...
I present: The Grammy nominees.
I gave up on this show a while ago, but the whole "train wreck fucks a train wreck" factor keeps bringing me back...

Here's an articulate article on the state of the music industry on the Interwebs.
I'm also reading this guy's book, Appetite for Self-Destruction, a fascinating history of the economics of the music industry. Definitely worth a read if you're into that sort of thing.

Lifetime Movie, or Megadeth song?
Given their shared preoccupation with kidnapping, family dysfunction and untimely death, it’s sort of surprising that Lifetime and Megadeth don’t share more fans. Can you tell the difference between the titles of Lifetime movies and Megadeth songs?

New Jackson music
This one's pretty terrible, I hope the Jackson vault yields better results than what we've seen so far...

DJ Earworm's United State of Pop 2009
Mashup of a bunch of top pop tracks of last year... listen to this and watch the video then try and tell me that mashups can't be an art form. This is pretty brilliant:
